With specialized knowledge in wind and solar power generation, we work to facilitate growth of the renewables industry in Vietnam. The practice is well-versed in advising clients on various power project agreements. This includes joint venture agreements, joint development agreements, power purchase agreements and energy term sheets.

Our team has acted on the following matters:
  • VinaCapital – USD 3 billion LNG to power development in Long An province, Vietnam.
  • ADB – Non-recourse financing of USD 690 million for the Monsoon Wind Power Project, a 600MW wind power project in Laos for electricity import into Vietnam.
  • One of the largest Vietnam-based investment fund managers – Investment into a two-phase, 3,500MW offshore wind power generation project in Binh Thuan province, Vietnam.
  • One of the largest Vietnam-based investment fund managers – Investment in a joint venture with a major French renewable energy company for onshore wind projects in Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces.
  • ADB – Non-recourse financing of USD 186 million for a 257MW solar power project in Phu Yen province, Vietnam.
  • Sembcorp – Acquisition of an 115MW portfolio of rooftop solar assets in Vietnam.
  • The Blue Circle – Legal aspects for developing multiple wind farm projects (40 MW each) in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces.
  • Vestas – Turbine supply and installation agreements for multiple solar and wind projects, including a 210 MW project.
  • Nordic Impact Cooperation AS – Proposed purchase of a significant minority shareholding in a Vietnamese independent power producer.
  • A Japanese investor – Legal due diligence for a 60MW onshore wind project in Vietnam.
  • The Blue Circle – Acquisition of a majority interest in a Vietnamese wind park developer with development permits.
